Email Marketing have been a long history in internet marketing. Before 1998, the time SEO was born, when it came to talk about online marketing or internet marketing, email marketing should always come first in our minds. Despite email spamming, it is still a good tool to deliver your products to the client’s Inbox. It’s a form of direct marketing so that the direct marketing players have been including email marketing as part of their service since it was born. So, what do we need to know about email marketing as a marketer? I try to list the points that you have to pay attention to if you are going to buy such service.
Mailing List – Two types. 1. you provide your list to the email marketing service provider. 2. you have no such list and want to buy or rent the list from them. If you are going to purchase from them please request for a report about the source and history of the list data. They might be coming from random pickings online or from a CD which is selling down the street for US10! The life time of a mailling list normally expires after 1 year they were being captured. Getting to know if the list are permission based or you are gonna be another unsolicited email spammer! Also getting to know the nature of the list.
Cleanness of mailing list – As a receiver of your list, they don’t want to receive your information more than once. So you have to do de-duplication to kill those recurring entries in the list.
